Le Serre Nuove 2020 – Bolgheri Rosso DOC

Le Serre Nuove 2020 is Tenuta Ornellaia's "second vin," produced in the Bolgheri DOC (Tuscany). The blend comprises 44% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc, and 13% Petit Verdot, giving the wine an intense ruby ​​red color with purple highlights. On the nose, aromas of cherries, black cherries, blackcurrants, and blueberries emerge, enriched with tertiary notes of spice, coffee, and licorice.

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel and cement at 22-28°C, with maceration lasting 10-15 days, followed by malolactic fermentation. Aged for 15 months in barriques (25% new, 75% used) and a further 6 months in bottle. At 14.5% ABV, the wine is best served at 16-18°C and pairs well with red meats, rich first courses, and mature cheeses.
