Bertani Catullo Valpolicella Ripasso 2019 – Red

Bertani's Catullo Valpolicella Ripasso 2019 is a medium-bodied red wine produced in the classic Valpolicella area (Veneto). The blend is 70% Corvina Veronese, 20% Corvinone, and 10% Rondinella. The Ripasso technique involves a second fermentation in contact with the Amarone skins, followed by 12 months of aging in 75hl French oak barrels, a further 12 months in concrete vats, and at least six months of bottle aging.

On the nose, intense aromas of black cherry, black cherry, white pepper, vanilla, chocolate, and a hint of licorice emerge. On the palate, it is enveloping, with silky tannins and a long finish. Serve at 18-20°C (64-68°F), ideal with roasted and grilled meats, pasta with ragù, and mushroom risotto.
