Vespa Bianco Bastianich – IGT Friuli Venezia Giulia

Bastianich's Vespa Bianco IGT is a dry white wine produced in the hills of Buttrio, Premariacco, and Cividale, in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The blend is composed of Chardonnay (45%), Sauvignon (45%), and Picolit (10%), fermented in 500-liter French oak barrels and aged for 11 months with frequent bâtonnage. The alcohol content is 13.5% vol., and the bottle holds 0.75 liters.

The nose opens with mineral and citrus notes that transform into white flowers, honey, and ripe pear; the palate is fresh, balanced, and persistent. The wine has received three Tre Bicchieri awards from Gambero Rosso and five Grappoli from the Bibenda Guide. It pairs well with white meats, seafood, and shellfish. Serve at 8-10°C and store in a cool, dark place.
